The logs are spammed with dec 22 23:52:26 orthros.de-korte.org org.kde.KScreen[9249]: kscreen.xcb.helper: RRNotify_OutputProperty (ignored) dec 22 23:52:26 orthros.de-korte.org org.kde.KScreen[9249]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Output: 67 dec 22 23:52:26 orthros.de-korte.org org.kde.KScreen[9249]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Property: Backlight dec 22 23:52:26 orthros.de-korte.org org.kde.KScreen[9249]: kscreen.xcb.helper: State (newValue, Deleted): 0 Which results in about 2000 lines an hour in the logs with identical messages. There may be a reason to log this, but it is insane to do so at this rate. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1020016 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1020016#c3 --- Comment #3 from Arjen de Korte <suse+build@de-korte.org> --- Still a bug. Nothing should be logging debugging messages at such an excessive rate by default. If upstream is unable/unwilling to fix this (which seems to be the case here), the required file to suppress the debug output should be part of the package, rather than requiring users to create it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Waking up my monitor produces more than 300 lines of log output (on a Tumbleweed system). I find it inacceptable. This really has to be disabled by default. Whoever needs it for debug can switch it on. And the issue is already ages old..... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
