[Bug 280009] New: zypper does *not* honor /etc/sysconfig/proxy
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=280009 Summary: zypper does *not* honor /etc/sysconfig/proxy Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 4plus Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp AssignedTo: kkaempf@novell.com ReportedBy: jnelson-suse@jamponi.net QAContact: kkaempf@novell.com Apparently, zypper does *not* honor /etc/sysconfig/proxy. I had to manually set (lowercase) http_proxy and https_proxy in the run-time environment of zypper. Uppercase HTTP_PROXY did not work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

They pick up environment variables instead. Those variables are set when you start a new shell. The shell gets the information from SuSEconfig which you should run after changing anything below /etc/sysconfig. (side note: yes, this is awkward and we're working on getting suseconfig removed -> assigning to cthiel) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
