[Bug 828379] New: Wiki search doesn't work unless your search string is exactly the page name
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=828379 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=828379#c0 Summary: Wiki search doesn't work unless your search string is exactly the page name Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Wiki AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: i@marguerite.su QAContact: adrian@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/29.0.1516.3 Safari/537.36 We all know that there're many `NVIDIA` articles in our wiki (both English and Chinese) Now we use the search term "NVIDIA" in the top-right searchbar in our wiki index (any of them will be okay, will not affect the result) No result returned. Now use "NVIDIA_drivers", still no result returned. Now use "SDB:NVIIA_drivers", okay, it tells "There is a page named "SDB:NVIDIA drivers" on this wiki". But if I've alreaky known the exact page name, why do I need a search? According to http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Searching Mediawiki do support keyword search instead of exact match, so it's a bug at our side. Reproducible: Always Actual Results: no results unless your search term is the exact page name Expected Results: it should search based on key words, even Chinese keywords. PS: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SphinxSearch This plugin supports Chinese as well as English keyword search well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
