Booting fails because mounting the CD fails. And from about six attempts to boot the CD one succeeded. I think the cause of failure might be some driver (maybe IDE) problem. Also my 10.3 assigns the CD drive node /dev/sr0, whereas the LiveCD /dev/sr1. Don't know if this is relevant. As I said if you boot with the kernel commandline option kiwidebug=1 the boot process will stop in case of an error and provide a shell to you In that situation you can plug in an USB stick for example and copy the /var/log/boot.kiwi file onto the stick. If you could provide this file I have a chance to see why it failed. Anyway if there are attempts the same CD works in the drive and sometimes it doesn't we are running in either a timing issue or a driver problem. To make sure we are not in trouble because we didn't wait long enough you also can check in the mentioned shell if you can get the device activated by checking with hwinfo --cdrom if it appears later and you can mount the CD the trouble is just because of a timing problem which can be fixed in kiwi.
