[Bug 1018967] New: reverse scroll setting for mouse and touchpad has no effect
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1018967 Bug ID: 1018967 Summary: reverse scroll setting for mouse and touchpad has no effect Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: suse_forum@roocomputing.co.uk QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- P.S. Bug 892157 from 2014 in Gnome references the same issue, but calls it "Natural scrolling" I am running OpenSUSE Leap 42.2 x86_64 with KDE on a Dell Latitude E5430 laptop recently upgraded from Leap 42.1 ISSUE: go to "Mouse - System Settings Module" > "General" tab check that "Reverse scroll direction" is unticked Also check that in file "~/.config/kcminputrc" in the [Mouse] section that "ReverseScrollPolarity=false" Then try changing "Reverse scroll direction" from untick --> tick Then ensure that "ReverseScrollPolarity=true" At this point I do not get any change in mouse behaviour For info, file ~/.config/kdeglobals is touched but not updated ALSO: go to "Touchpad - System Settings Module" Note that it says: "Active settings don't match saved settings. You currently see saved settings." so I click on "Show Active Settings" go to "Scrolling" tab change "Reverse scrolling: Vertical" from untick --> tick and "OK" Note that in: ~/.config/ No files are modified Again, I do not get any change in touchpad behaviour Again, go to "Touchpad - System Settings Module" go to "Scrolling" tab currently "Reverse scrolling: Vertical" is set to tick changes "Reverse scrolling: Vertical" from tick --> untick and "OK" Again, in ~/.config/ No files are modified In Leap 42.1 I had trouble getting reverse scrolling to work and stay working, but I did get it to work and it did keep working between boots. I can confirm that a member of #suse IRC also tried changing the mouse behaviour with the same outcome: no change in behaviour -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
