[Bug 1171318] New: [Build 20200506] YaST security module: integrate with pam_pwdquality
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1171318 Bug ID: 1171318 Summary: [Build 20200506] YaST security module: integrate with pam_pwdquality Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other URL: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1257523/modules/yast 2_security/steps/27 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: dimstar@opensuse.org QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- ## Observation openQA test in scenario opensuse-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-yast2_gui@64bit fails in [yast2_security](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1257523/modules/yast2_security/steps/27) ### Relevant pam-config change: - Update to version 1.3 - Add support for pam_pwquality - Replace cracklib with pam_pwquality ### YaST security still queries cracklib, which is no longer installed. This results in the settings not working on the right settings. (I assume this could lead to broken pam configs if a user were to adjust setting shere) ## Test suite description Maintainer: qsf-y Test for yast2 UI, GUI only. Running on created gnome images which provides both text console for ncurses UI tests as well as the gnome environment for the GUI tests. Temporarily added YAST2_GUI_TERMINATE_PREVIOUS_INSTANCES to see if helps. This variable triggers code which terminates all yast2 processes before starting new one. (see poo#26104). ## Reproducible Fails since (at least) Build [20200506](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1257523) (current job) ## Expected result Last good: [20200504](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1255703) (or more recent) ## Further details Always latest result in this scenario: [latest](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/latest?arch=x86_64&distri=opensuse&flavor=DVD&machine=64bit&test=yast2_gui&version=Tumbleweed) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Side-note for the password CC Thorsten. afaics, the option to 'remember <n> passwords' does not exist in pwdquality (which would mean that the diallog presents an entry that can't be working anymore)
remember n passwords is implemented in pam_pwhistory, not pam_cracklib. pam_pwquality supports all options of pam_cracklib. If you run into problems here, then something undocumented was used or it didn't worked before, too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

YaST security still queries cracklib, which is no longer installed.
I assume you mean pam_cracklib. pwquality (and thus pam_pwquality) is using cracklib, too, so that should be installed. pam_cracklib is still installed, too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
