See screenshot sequence. I am unable to reproduce this in neither Leap or Tumbleweed under GNOME, so reassigning to xfce maintainers.
This might be a xfce, xorg or virtualization problem. I do however doubt that it's a problem from gnome-screenshot itself, but I might be wrong there.
I can rule out that this is a virtualization problem: Originally I experienced this on my Lenovo X200s using a i915 (Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)) on a bare-metal install.
