[...] Thank you for such a wonderful post.
Thanks :) Below I'm reporting some of the turbostat columns, referring to the "overview output lines" (those having a dash "-" instead of the Core/CPU number). All parameters are nominal, no CPU is going faster than expected or wasting energy. See below how "Avg_MHz" is in the single or two digits (indicating that the CPUs are mostly idle), and that is confirmed by the "Busy%" column, always around 1% or less except for a couple of readings. "Bzy_MHz", discussed previously, is uninteresting for this analysis but reported for completeness, as it's similar to what lscpu would show. Note that lscpu would give Bzy_MHz for the first CPU, CPU#0, while below we have the average over the entire system. Temperature is around 30 C and power consuption is ~7W (this specific CPU is expected to consume around 95W under load, see https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/126684/intel-core-i7870... On this basis, I'm going to close this report, everything seems to work fine. Feel free to reopen if anything changes. Cheers, $ grep ^- turbostat.log | \ awk 'BEGIN {printf "%s\t%s\t%s\t%s\t%s\n", "Avg_MHz", "Busy%", "Bzy_MHz", "PkgTmp", "PkgWatt"} {printf "%2d\t%5.2f\t%5d\t%3d\t%5.2f\n", $3, $4, $5, $33, $44}' Avg_MHz Busy% Bzy_MHz PkgTmp PkgWatt 35 1.40 2492 31 8.04 11 0.87 1275 31 6.83 10 0.84 1177 30 6.80 10 0.82 1197 30 6.75 10 0.85 1162 30 6.77 10 0.86 1167 30 6.81 10 0.84 1174 31 6.86 10 0.85 1167 30 6.85 10 0.87 1156 31 6.85 10 0.85 1156 31 6.85 10 0.84 1182 30 6.85 10 0.84 1169 30 6.83 10 0.86 1168 30 6.85 10 0.84 1181 31 6.83 10 0.86 1177 31 6.85 10 0.84 1183 31 6.84 10 0.84 1188 30 6.85 10 0.85 1180 30 6.81 10 0.84 1171 30 6.81 10 0.82 1190 30 6.73 10 0.84 1170 31 6.84 10 0.86 1163 31 6.82 10 0.84 1174 30 6.82 21 2.25 937 30 7.06 9 0.83 1064 31 6.72 9 0.82 1053 31 6.68 10 0.84 1177 30 6.76 14 1.39 1031 31 6.87 89 10.28 867 32 7.70 65 8.12 800 31 4.99 27 3.23 829 31 4.40 8 0.86 984 30 5.85 9 0.85 1075 31 6.74 10 0.82 1189 31 6.77 24 2.63 920 31 7.04 28 2.86 962 31 7.11 10 1.30 800 30 6.69 10 0.83 1191 31 6.75 10 0.87 1179 30 6.77 10 0.84 1187 31 6.75 10 0.83 1199 31 6.75 10 0.83 1188 31 6.73 10 0.84 1176 30 6.74 10 0.82 1192 31 6.76 10 0.84 1177 31 6.78 10 0.82 1183 30 6.73 10 0.83 1184 31 6.77 10 0.83 1200 31 6.76 10 0.84 1185 30 6.77 10 0.82 1202 30 6.75 10 0.82 1182 31 6.74 10 0.82 1189 31 6.77 10 0.83 1186 30 6.79 28 2.36 1196 30 7.39 9 0.81 1072 31 6.76 9 0.82 1070 30 6.71 10 0.84 1189 31 6.78 10 0.82 1187 31 6.76 10 0.87 1178 30 6.81 10 0.84 1168 31 6.78 10 0.83 1181 31 6.74 10 0.85 1170 31 6.79 10 0.83 1189 30 6.79 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
