how do I get working addons in firefox ?
update: I've created a new profile. there loading new addons work fine. but IMHO this is not an option (at least it won't make updaters very happy) because I want to keep my common profile (passwords, addons selection, booktab, many preferences settings (proxies, ..)). it's not fun loosing all that. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Looks like https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421396
correct, it's the same error console output. I've removed the extensions directory, and now I'm able to (re)install the addons into my old profile... I kept my old "bad" extensions directory in case you need further tests with next beta release... questions remaining (for me, maybe you know): - how can I get a (text) list of the installed addons ? window screen shots of the addons-scroll-list is no fun and find -name install.rdf | xargs grep -h name did not show all addons which I have to re-install after removing extensions/ - (for next problem report;) : how to save the error console context other than window screen shot ? thanks for the pointer (I can type reports with "it's all text" addon again;)!! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

correct, it's the same error console output.
If you like you can test the new firefox packages from mozilla:beta. They contain a patch which hopefully fix that issue.
questions remaining (for me, maybe you know):
- how can I get a (text) list of the installed addons ? window screen shots of the addons-scroll-list is no fun and
find -name install.rdf | xargs grep -h name
did not show all addons which I have to re-install after removing extensions/
It should. As long as you check %{_libdir}/firefox/extensions as well.
- (for next problem report;) : how to save the error console context other than window screen shot ?
Single messages can be copied with the context menu. I don't know a solution for the full log :-( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Waiting for feedback but probably fixed with latest packages in buildservice.

Factory is outdated and still misses the fix.
Right. I submitted xulrunner with this patch (and several other fixes besides) several days ago, but it hasn't made it through yet. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
