[Bug 297233] New: Enable X Server Grab Key Combinations by Default
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=297233 Summary: Enable X Server Grab Key Combinations by Default Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: sh@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development In /etc/X11/xorg.conf files created by SaX2, please add by default Option "AllowClosedownGrabs" "on" Option "AllowDeactivateGrabs" "on" in the "ServerFlags" section. This will enable key combinations to get an X server going again that is stuck due to X server grabs: Ctrl+Alt+Keypad-Multiply Not treated specially by default. If the AllowClose- downGrabs xorg.conf(5) file option is specified, this key sequence kills clients with an active keyboard or mouse grab as well as killing any application that may have locked the server, normally using the XGrab- Server(3) Xlib function. Ctrl+Alt+Keypad-Divide Not treated specially by default. If the AllowDeac- tivateGrabs xorg.conf(5) file option is specified, this key sequence deactivates any active keyboard and mouse grabs. (from "man xorg") Even though X servers lock up rarely due to this, if it happens, the only way out is to kill the X server which usually means considerable work to set up all running X applications again, "cd" to the desired directories in xterm/konsole windows etc. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
