IIRC, you are using pulseaudio, right? What happens if you restart PA after resume? Or, simply stop PA after resume and try "aplay -Dplughw foo.wav". If this doesn't work, it's likely a driver problem. Please run /usr/share/doc/packages/alsa/alsa-info.sh with --no-upload option before and after suspend. There's a remaining issue related to suspend/resume. After resuming from suspend, opening and closing the sound device generates a clearly audible chirping sound. e.g. After banshee finishes its play list, it releases PA connection. If it was the only audio app, PA releases the device after a short while which creates a sharp chirping sound. The sound also happens when audio play is started again too. The bad sound problem is likely dependent on the codec chip. In the new report, please attach alsa-info outputs before and after suspend. Also, please check whether the problem persists after "rcalsasound restart" (reloading the module).
