I've checked that patch into our kernel CVS. Can you try using a kernel from http://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/kernel/kotd/SL110_BRANCH/ starting tomorrow and see if it fixes your problem? The changelog should contain: - patches.fixes/edd-fix-incorrect-return-of-1-from-module_init: edd: fix incorrect return of 1 from module_init (bnc#406637). I do not know what the reason was. It is working now. I have started the system several times in the last days and I never had a hang again. Thus I close the bug now as fixed.
