[Bug 402722] New: irritating DVD/CD eject dialog ...
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=402722 Summary: irritating DVD/CD eject dialog ... Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mmeeks@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I installed SUSE 11.0 from a DVD, re-booted post install - and then wanted to eject my DVD: bad luck - it failed noisily with some bogus dialog thrash. Subsequently (avoiding the re-install) simply re-booting with the DVD in the drive gives a similar but different gripe: "Cannot unmount volume The volume 'SU1100.001' was probably mounted manually on the command line." "Details Device to unmount is not in /media/.hal-mtab so it is not mounted by HAL" Of course - it is correct - strangely, if you boot with the DVD in the drive -it is not auto-mounted, and does not appear on the desktop by default. Ejecting & re-inserting the DVD while the system is running fixes this. But it's not a particularly lovely user-experience :-) So - why is HAL not correctly mounting the existing CD ? hwinfo attached. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
