As I am using autologin, kdm starts KDE automatically and fails. Login screen appears again. Then I log in into root account and make either init 3 or restart X (via ctrl-alt-bkspc twice). Then I use command startx from root account to restart X and I am getting the output as in attachment 463700. Please change your log attachments to text/plain, and choose appropriately when attaching any in the future. I can't tell what video chip you have, but conceivably it could be important to troubleshooting. Output of 'lspci | grep VGA' will produce that information. A complete Xorg.0.log might also be useful. Still I suggest to try: 1-start without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf file (12.1 should not need one, same as 11.4); 2-take a look at the end of /etc/permissions.local, which might also provide some troubleshooting assistance if you enable that configuration and try to open X as root. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
