This should be done for KMS to be used without nVidia driver. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. uninstall nvidia driver 2. 3. KMS will still be enabled, even with NO_KMS_IN_INITRD set to yes. Just not during boot, but afterwards before X starts.
