[Bug 406225] New: Split drivers from xorg-x11-driver-video package
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=406225 Summary: Split drivers from xorg-x11-driver-video package Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: cmorve69@yahoo.es QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Correct me if I'm wrong. I can update to the latest version of any video driver from the xorg-x11-driver-video package installing a new package in a /update subdirectory. The thing is I tried to create an updated intel driver package from the one available at (http://xorg.freedesktop.org/releases/individual/driver/) but I saw it also uses files at /usr/lib64/. And up to where I can see there is no way to override these libraries... So, should be a good idea to split the drivers that use /usr/lib64/libI810XvMC.la /usr/lib64/libI810XvMC.so /usr/lib64/libI810XvMC.so.1 /usr/lib64/libI810XvMC.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib64/libIntelXvMC.la /usr/lib64/libIntelXvMC.so /usr/lib64/libIntelXvMC.so.1 /usr/lib64/libIntelXvMC.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib64/libviaXvMC.la /usr/lib64/libviaXvMC.so /usr/lib64/libviaXvMC.so.1 /usr/lib64/libviaXvMC.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib64/libviaXvMCPro.la /usr/lib64/libviaXvMCPro.so /usr/lib64/libviaXvMCPro.so.1 /usr/lib64/libviaXvMCPro.so.1.0.0 to separate packages, so they can be updated if needed? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
