[Bug 456593] New: /usr/bin/man cannot handle a trailing slash in MANPATH
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=456593 Summary: /usr/bin/man cannot handle a trailing slash in MANPATH Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: james.faulkner@yale.edu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- The following commands: export MANPATH=/usr/share/man man 2 getrlimit produce the getrlimit(2) manpage, as expected. However this: export MANPATH=/usr/share/man/ man 2 getrlimit produces an empty manual page. It seems that the version of man included with OpenSUSE 11.0 cannot handle trailing slashes in MANPATH. I checked a RHEL4 machine, and that produces the correct manpage whether or not there is a trailing slash in MANPATH. OpenSUSE should be fixed so that trailing slashes do not break man. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
