[Bug 205114] New: Document more prominently that kernel-default contains an SMP kernel
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=205114 Summary: Document more prominently that kernel-default contains an SMP kernel Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 4 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de QAContact: qa@suse.de There is no package kernel-smp any more in Factory, package kernel-default contains the SMP kernel. The %description tag of package kernel-default is currently very short: "The standard kernel." I'm proposing an extended text like: "The standard kernel for both UP and SMP systems." or maybe "The standard kernel for both Uniprocessor and Multiprocessor systems." to make it visible in the package manager that installing this kernel on SMP systems is not an error. The %summary tag of package kernel-bigsmp is also redundant: "Kernel with Multiprocessor Support and PAE" I'm proposing: "Kernel with PAE Support" because there is no package without multiprocessor support at all. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
