First, I've created a mysterious bug report and then, five minutes later, I know at least the cause of the error: My webcam was plugged in! After unplugging my webcam ekiga starts. Replugging again and ekiga doesn't start! Workaround is found, but not the solution. (in the meantime I've installed libpt2-plugins-v4l2. Why it isn't automatically installed together with ekiga?!?) It must be a dependency problem, but I don't which one of the dozens GNOME packages was the missing. Btw: There must be more dependencies then libpt2 and opal. Because after updating the gkt packages many warning (start ekiga from console) disappears and the crush when starting a chat is also gone. Additionally, the contact view looks also nicer (new subtile: "I'm online using ekiga") Summary: Obviously Ekiga needs lots of packages to run under KDE (4.3.0).
