[Bug 183336] Segfault of oobase using gcj java
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=183336 ------- Comment #11 from matz@novell.com 2006-10-24 06:48 MST ------- Yes, that's what I tried. But I only see the version from Sun Microssytems Inc. I have a Alpha5 installed, and additionally these packages: % rpm -qa | egrep 'java|gcj' | sort gcc41-java-4.1.2_20060920-6 gcc-java-4.1.3-13 java-1_4_2-gcj-compat-1.4.2.0-49 java-1_4_2-sun-1.4.2_update12-5 java-1_4_2-sun-devel-1.4.2_update12-5 java-1_4_2-sun-jdbc-1.4.2_update12-5 java-1_4_2-sun-plugin-1.4.2_update12-5 libgcj41-4.1.2_20060920-6 libgcj41-devel-4.1.2_20060920-6 libgcj-devel-4.1.3-13 Per that dialog the Sun Java is found in /usr/lib/jvm/java-1_4_2-sun-1.4.2_update12/jre/, which corresponds to the softlink /usr/lib/jvm/jre-sun/ and which contains many interesting files. /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/ OTOH just contains these files: % find /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/ /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/ /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/bin /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/bin/java /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/bin/keytool /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/bin/rmiregistry /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/lib /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/lib/i386 /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/lib/rt.jar /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/lib/jdtcore.jar And bin/keytool, lib/jdtcore.jar and lib/rt.jar are just broken soft links. I can call that gcj java, though: % /usr/lib/jvm/jre-gcj/bin/java Usage: gij [OPTION] ... CLASS [ARGS] ... to invoke CLASS.main, or gij -jar [OPTION] ... JARFILE [ARGS] ... to execute a jar file Try `gij --help' for more information. So gcj does work. I don't know why OOo doesn't find it (or which method it uses to find it). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
