There appears a splash screen and then it silently quits. When run from command line, the same thing happens, no error message appears. Additional info: Openoffice.org version 2.4.1.6-1.1. The same thing happens if I downgrade it to an earlier version that comes by default with OpenSUSE 11 or upgrade to the unstable 3rd version. So it's probably something more fundamental that just OO. We have enabled GIO instead of GNOME VFS and it might cause this infinite loop, see the bug #442678. Otherwise, could you please attach the list of installed OOo packages? There have been some updates and OOO-3 was released so now it's hard to say what the problem actually was. At some point I just updated OOO and it started working. Now I don't have my old workstation on which the problem occurred, so I guess you could just close the bug.
