Do the unexpected errors fit also to the issues "Check dependencies for X.Org X11 library" (bug #555634)
Yes, this appears to be a messed up system. I suggest to reinstall. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I sent a file "solver_test555627c.t7z" as mail attachment to Michael Andres and Marcus Meissner on 2009-12-04 because my solver test cases became bigger than 10 MB since my switch to openSUSE 11.2.
Sorry, but I did not get this mail. Marcus, did you? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

1. Why did the solver suggest to downgrade three components here? Is the release "SaX2 8.1-584.585.3" also available for my processor architecture "x86_64"?
You can use 'zypper se -s sax2' to see all installed and available sax2 versions. '8.1-584.585.3.x86_64' is among them. Looks like you've got some old 11.1 stuff hanging around on your system. You probably know this, as you are using several 11.1 based repos, even with high priority: priority 23 - Haupt-Repository http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.1/ The solver was simply asked to 'install sax', so the version that fits best to your system was chosen. A version downgrade is considered to be less painfull than the need to delete packages. If you prefer this specific version, try 'zypper in sax2-8.1-584.585.3'. It will then suggest to remove the old kdebase3-SuSE which requires libhd.so.15.

If you prefer this specific version, try 'zypper in sax2-8.1-584.585.3'.
This command does not present a dependency resolution suggestion or a corresponding installation action overview within an hour. This behaviour fits to the issue "Cancel a long running dependency resolution try in package manager" (bug #404770).
It will then suggest to remove the old kdebase3-SuSE which requires libhd.so.15.

Now I get this resolution suggestion quickly after I adjusted my repository priorities a bit more. The following packages are going to be upgraded: hwinfo kio_sysinfo sax2 yast2-hardware-detection The following packages are going to be REMOVED: kdebase3-SuSE kdebase3-SuSE-lang But I do not like the suggested deletion when I do not want to loose KDE 3.5.10 features. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
