This is actually a poppler bug, see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49523, which is fixed in git on the 0.20 branch but not available in a release yet. I expect 0.20.3 to be out around August 10 and then I'll submit another update to that version. I did this submission separately to try out the process and see how it goes. There's an SO name bump unfortunately, I don't know if that means this update can't go into 12.2. With poppler-0.20.0 printing fails on many/most/all PostScript printers from many applications. By linking to the new libpoppler-glib (same soversion) and the old libpoppler (old soversion), for instance: this would result in old and new libpoppler being loaded, which would likely give some fun. We had serious problems for printing from diffrent hp printers with postscript drivers on OpenSUSE 12.2. Installing / Updating from repo comment 10 solved it. The annoying thing is, that postscript errs are turned off on most printers, so most people will have to go through quite some troubleshooting before getting there. We really need to get these packages out for OpenSUSE 12.2. We would need to rebuild lots (unknown amount) of packages and the current way maintenance works is that this is not done automat9ically. so we would need all libpoppler.so.xx users in the same update to make this work. You don't see funny dependency errors, because the old libpoppler25 is left installed on the machine, and unfixed and untrackable. So either you split libpoppler25 and do this major version upgrade , or not at all. There is no need to push a new release of poppler to get the fix (I don't really understand why poppler folks are bumping their ABI for minor release, that seems bogus but it is another issue). You just need to backport patch http://cgit.freedesktop.org/poppler/poppler/commit/?id=92ef16e3699da949c8071...

I have the same problem with libreoffice... I tried using upgrade from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Zaitor:/branches:/openSUSE:/...
and it seem working.
This repo contains those rpm that are perfectly working: libpoppler27-0.20.3-2.5.1.i586.rpm libpoppler-qt4-4-0.20.3-2.5.1.i586.rpm libpoppler-glib8-0.20.3-2.5.1.i586.rpm poppler-tools-0.20.3-2.5.1.i586.rpm The rpms from: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Zaitor:/bnc_774627/openSUSE_... don't work at all. So in my opinion comment 19 and 20 refer to the above repo and its rpms. (this major) bug was reported on 2012-08-06 (for openSUSE-12.2-rc) with the patch to fix it. It affected many people and was easy to reproduce. In the end, it took 11 weeks to get the fix released. Folks, IMHO, this should not take more than three weeks!
