[Bug 217211] New: Cannot install FV guest with blocktap (default)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=217211 Summary: Cannot install FV guest with blocktap (default) Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Xen AssignedTo: cgriffin@novell.com ReportedBy: lbendixs@novell.com QAContact: jdouglas@novell.com I tried installing a 64 bit SLES10 guest on 64 bit oS10.2 Dom0 and the disk only showed .9 MB size. With a Windows guest (on 32 bit Dom0) the os only sees 1MB as the disk size. Thus we are unable to install fully virtualized with the new blocktap code. Changing the "tap:aio:" string in the config file to "file:" is a workaround and perhaps yast2-vm should be changed to default to this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=217211 ------- Comment #1 from lbendixs@novell.com 2006-11-06 13:11 MST ------- This has been worked around so that blktap is not the default for the yast2-vm module but the kernel has blktap turned on so that people can still try it out (thus this bug still exists) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Regardless, upstream didn't try this in xen 3.0.3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
