I read the upstream bug report and started looking for this corrupted profile file. From what I understand the profile file should be located in a folder called p2 located in the root of the eclipse folder (/usr/share/eclipse), but it's nowhere to be found. I managed to get the Update UI to show up by downloading Eclipse from eclipse.org. I then copied the p2 folder from the compressed file to /usr/share/eclipse and added the following two lines to /usr/share/eclipse/configuration/config.ini. eclipse.p2.data.area=/usr/share/eclipse/p2 eclipse.p2.profile=PlatformProfile I then added http://download.eclipse.org/releases/ganymede to the list of sites and tried installing subversive. It downloads and tries to install but fails in the end with the error "Cannot connect to keystore. This trust engine is read only.
