[Bug 1207852] New: INDI 2.0 breaks Stellarium
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1207852 Bug ID: 1207852 Summary: INDI 2.0 breaks Stellarium Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: pstivanin@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- With the upgrade to INDI 2.0, some breaking changes were introduced (https://github.com/indilib/indi/pull/1764) without being mentioned in the release notes whatsoever. These changes break Stellarium and PHD2, because they can no longer be compiled until their code is updated to match the new INDI format. IMHO, we have the following two options available: * we create a new package, libindi1, and we point both Stellarium and PHD2 to it * we rollback INDI to 1.9.9 and KStars to 3.6.2 (because >=3.6.3 requires INDI 2.0) Any preference? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

The fastest and cleanest solution, IMHO, would be to downgrade INDI to 1.9.9 and KStars to 3.6.2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1207852 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1207852#c6 --- Comment #6 from Paolo Stivanin <pstivanin@suse.com> --- I've created a new package (https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1065500), called indi, that brings back INDI 1.9.9. This allows us to compile again Stellarium and PDH2 until they both fully support INDI 2.x. I had to specify a conflict with INDI 2, because they can't coexist together. Moreover, the following applies: * if the user wants Stellarium, then INDI 1.x is installed and KStars is removed * if the user wants KStars, then INDI 2.x is installed and Stellarium is removed -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
