Then it was trying to create a mount point for the DVD under /var/adm/mount and /mnt/var/tmp as an alternative and both failed. It will print the errno value and continue using the not canonicalized path. The output of Bug 220206, Comment 4 shows, that the directories /var/adm/mount and /var/tmp exists and seems to be useable. I can't reproduce this problem neither on i386 nor on x86_64. Yast2 logs attached. Applied patch to libzypp-2.9.1-5, YOU successful.
The problem is, that we really need the canonicalized absolute pathname here to be able to find the mount- point in the /etc/mtab later in case that somebody makes use of a symlinked /var to e.g. /more_space/var.
