[Bug 343722] New: libstdc++.so.2.8 missing from compat
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=343722 Summary: libstdc++.so.2.8 missing from compat Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: ro@novell.com ReportedBy: pth@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other In openSUSE 10.2, compat contained libstdc++.so.2.7, libstdc++.so.2.8 and libstdc++.so.2.9, whereas in 10.3 2.7 and 2.8 seem to have been dropped. At least libstdc++.so.2.8 seems to be needed by uvscan from McAffee/NAI, as reported on opensuse-de. Why where 2.8 and 2.7 dropped and is there any chance to get at least 2.8 back? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

From some of those it seems so.2.7 and so.2.8 can be build. Of course nobody is interested in trying to build such old sources anymore, but maybe we simply can copy back the old binaries into compat, and deliver the newest libgpp27 source package as tarball to fulfill the GPL obligations. If someone is determined enough... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
