[Bug 834858] New: Apper can't update packages from lower-priority repos
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=834858 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=834858#c0 Summary: Apper can't update packages from lower-priority repos Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp AssignedTo: zypp-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: colAflash@gmx.net QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 I got my software repos (repositories) organized with 3 different priorities via "YaST => Software Repositories". All repos from http://download.opensuse.org/update/12.3/ http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/12.3/repo/oss/ have priority 70 (lower number is higher priority). To different repos I give the standard priority 99. Examples are: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/ ftp://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/packman/suse/openSUSE_12.3/ This is, because I want to install packages only manually from this repos. But I'd like packages I once chosen from this repos to update automatically. Certain repos get a higher priority (60), because I want that packages in every case instead of the default openSUSE 12.3 packages. For example: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/LibreOffice:/Unstable/openSUSE_12.... K3b is one of the few packages I installed from "packman" (see above for url). If there's an update to it, provided by "packman", Apper shows me that update. But if I start to install the update, Apper tells me: Window title: Dependency resolution failed - Apper Text: A package dependency could not be found. More information is available in the detailed report. Details: There is no update candidate for k3b-2.0.2-16.6.x86_64 I selected just K3b to update (no other package). Strange, because K3b is the package Apper showed me an update for and not a dependency of another package I wanted to update. Using "YaST => Software Management" there's also a newer version of the package available and I can update to it without problems. The problem in Apper disappears if I change the "packman" repos priority to 70 (the same as the openSUSE-OSS and openSUSE-OSS-Update repos which also contain a K3b package). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Give different priorities to repos containing different versions of the same package. 2. Install one of those packages from a lower-priority repo. 3. Try to update the package via Apper when there's a newer version available from the repo you installed the package from. Actual Results: Apper tells: Window title: Dependency resolution failed - Apper Text: A package dependency could not be found. More information is available in the detailed report. Details: There is no update candidate for NAME_OF_THE_PACKAGE_YOU_TRY_TO_UPDATE Expected Results: Apper should update the package. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
