http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1006429 Bug ID: 1006429 Summary: Kernel 4.7.6 -> 4.8.3 regression: "i2c_designware INT33C3:00: timeout in disabling adapter" after suspend Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: stefan.bruens@rwth-aachen.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- There seems to be a resource conflict, accessing the touchpad as PS/2 device and over I2C During suspend there is the following in the journal: psmouse serio1: Failed to disable mouse on isa0060/serio1 After resume: i2c_designware INT33C3:00: timeout waiting for bus ready i2c_hid i2c-ATML1000:00: failed to change power setting. i2c_designware INT33C3:00: timeout waiting for bus ready i2c_hid i2c-DLL05E3:01: failed to change power setting. unloading/loading the i2c_designware_platform module leads to the same error messages. Is this a kernel regression from 4.7.x?
In anyway, could you report this to upstream, e.g. bugzilla.kernel.org? Feel free to add me (tiwai@suse.de) to Cc there for further tracking.
Kernel regression - I would say yes. I have been running 4.7.x on TW from 4.7.1? to 4.7.6, and never had any issues with the i2c controller (and as it is mastering the touchbad, I would have been aware of any issues immediately). I think suspend/resume worked at least once with 4.8.3 but I have to check, currently I do not have the Laptop available. Will report upstream later today. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Bug persists with 4.8.6 from TW. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
