This very computer, I'm 100% sure nobody changed the motherboard. And when I got it, there was a Windows installation on it, and it worked too. Unfortunately, I didn't keep any diagnostic info since then (of course, it was of no interest). Does this happen at all? I know of some chipsets which do have some secret registers you can use to change the device ID. These registers are used by the BIOS for last second 'corrections' to the PCI ID. I don't know if Intel does similar things. Please re-test with openSUSE 12.1 or openSUSE RC2+ and re-open with an updated Product if you still encounter your issue.
