With splash disabled I do not get any graphical screen nor centered prompt. The prompt is intermixed with the kernel and systemd messages but when typing it is re-displayed at the bottom of the screen.
That's expected, no? The console is shared between the kernel and systemd. With splash off, we certainly don't want either plymouth or systemd to clear the screen. AFAICS there's no way for systemd to "know" that some output from some other source has cluttered the screen. Indeed, as soon as the user types, the message is re-displayed, which is way better than having to type blindly.
Yes, that's fine. But it only happens with the splash disabled AFAIK. With splash enabled you get the various problems described above. And I am not interested in re-testing knowing that plymouth bugs do not get fixed.
Issues with plymouth are generally not fixed.
I don't think this is true. SUSE ships plymouth as part of its enterprise products.
We get plymouth bugs reported against the enterprise products which do not get fixed either. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
