@Felix Miata the kernel backtrace looks like an issue in Kernel DRM drivers. Could be related to a kernel update.
I would try first with an older kernel.
The comment 16 installation had last been upgraded to 20241030 with newest kernel 6.10.11, but I didn't record anything from Plasma6, only TDE. Use of Plasma6 was never saved before 20241206. Minutes ago I added locks Mesa*, libLLVM19 and *vulka*, to the existing kernel-de* and upgraded to 20241208, rpm installed 6.11.6, then booted with 6.11.6 and tried logging into plasma6. Result was black screen, no instance of "cut here" in dmesg, and eventual partial return to TDM (background only). # zypper --no-refresh se -s -i Mesa vulka llvm1 clang | egrep -v 'debug|devel|srcp|openSUSE-20' | egrep 'x86|noarch'| sort -f il | libLLVM19 | package | 19.1.4-1.1 | x86_64 | (System Packages) il | libvulkan1 | package | 1.3.296-1.1 | x86_64 | OSS il | libvulkan_lvp | package | 24.3.0-395.1 | x86_64 | (System Packages) il | libvulkan_radeon | package | 24.3.0-395.1 | x86_64 | (System Packages) il | Mesa | package | 24.3.0-395.1 | x86_64 | (System Packages) il | Mesa-demo-egl | package | 9.0.0-3.3 | x86_64 | OSS il | Mesa-demo-es | package | 9.0.0-3.3 | x86_64 | OSS il | Mesa-demo-x | package | 9.0.0-3.3 | x86_64 | OSS il | Mesa-dri | package | 24.3.0-395.1 | x86_64 | (System Packages) il | Mesa-gallium | package | 24.3.0-395.1 | x86_64 | (System Packages) il | Mesa-libEGL1 | package | 24.3.0-395.1 | x86_64 | (System Packages) il | Mesa-libGL1 | package | 24.3.0-395.1 | x86_64 | (System Packages) il | Mesa-libglapi0 | package | 24.3.0-395.1 | x86_64 | (System Packages) il | Mesa-vulkan-device-select | package | 24.3.0-395.1 | x86_64 | (System Packages) il | vulkan-tools | package | 1.3.296-1.1 | x86_64 | OSS # Next I removed lock on libLLVM19, then dup'd to 20241208 running 6.11.6 again: libLLVM19 19.1.4-1.1 -> 19.1.5-1.1. Another boot but with 6.11.8 produced same results, and same with LT 6.6.63 and 6.6.52. I have another R7 Kaveri, not with TW+plasma6, but with Slowroll+plasma6, last booted OK with 20241124, that I plan to try reproducing this with in similar steps, now that SR has progressed from 20241103 to 20241202, unless someone suggests it would be pointless. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
