so this issue happens if btrfsprogrs is missing in the image.
Hmm I fail to see why machinectl would use mkfs.btrfs from within an image in order to set the limit of the host pool located at /var/lib/machines.
What Dirk meant with 'image' is a 'nodepool image' so consider it as the main OS. So basically, if the btrfsprogs is missing from the host then you get this failure. Unfortunately I can't reproduce it on a regular system (ie remove btrfsprogs and run machinectl set-limit) However, I had a look at the source code https://github.com/systemd/systemd/blob/a32ffa161c04eefb08c92ca9c9f37c3a8111... and https://github.com/systemd/systemd/blob/a32ffa161c04eefb08c92ca9c9f37c3a8111... so it appears that indeed mkfs.btrfs is required on the host for machinectl to work. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
