If the glitz backend + X11 backend + other backends are compiled in anyway, how would one select which is used by default or used in any case programmatically? Would there be a way to build Cairo with the backend and "blacklist" glitz such that it could be enabled by enterprising users? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If you want to use glitz, it's really trivial to compile cairo this way in the build service. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=429280 User matt@genesi-usa.com added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=429280#c4 --- Comment #4 from Matt Sealey <matt@genesi-usa.com> 2009-01-02 09:37:24 MST --- I suppose since glitz is busted in 1.8.0 it's not THAT simple :] I'm looking around at the code paths for Cairo and it seems anyway that as long as you have Render acceleration (new radeonhd etc.) then this is going to be pushed through the graphics card anyway through that method.. however it is fairly dependent on the driver supporting XRender in whatever mode you're trying to run it in.. so far I see a lot of drivers only supporting it in EXA, or having better support in EXA, but this is by far not the default yet (r200 definitely not, radeonhd maybe it is). I guess it does not matter at all if you do have a nice, fast processor to fall back on, but the stuff I work with every day and the products we're looking into making sometimes really don't have much to work with :( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

They would know better than I do. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
