I get long hangs in the shutdown sequence which I have tracked down to the "fuser -sk -HUP $hupon" command. The problem seems to be that evolution-data-server is still running when this command is run and is difficult to kill. Usually there is a ~30 second pause and then the system prints errors relating to missing files in /proc/pid_of_eds/fd/22 all the way through fd/27. Printing the details before a shutdown I can see that these file descriptors belong to files from an NFS mounted partition which is no longer mounted. evolution 4322 mark 22u REG 0,19 24576 16660 /export/home/mark.Suse/.evolution/addressbook/local/system/addressbook.db evolution 4322 mark 23r REG 0,19 128 16845 /export/home/mark.Suse/.evolution/addressbook/local/system/.nfs000041cd00000001 evolution 4322 mark 24u REG 0,19 172032 16642 /export/home/mark.Suse/.evolution/addressbook/local/1196474870.5017.0@tbird/addressbook.db evolution 4322 mark 25r REG 0,19 24250 17381 /export/home/mark.Suse/.evolution/addressbook/local/1196474870.5017.0@tbird/.nfs000043e500000002 evolution 4322 mark 26u REG 0,19 671744 16666 /export/home/mark.Suse/.evolution/addressbook/local/1196474877.5017.1@tbird/addressbook.db evolution 4322 mark 27r REG 0,19 75375 16667 /export/home/mark.Suse/.evolution/addressbook/local/1196474877.5017.1@tbird/addressbook.db.summary Other info: tbird:~$ uname -a Linux tbird 2.6.22.17-0.1-default #1 SMP 2008/02/10 20:01:04 UTC i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux tbird:~$ mount | grep nfs rpc_pipefs on /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs type rpc_pipefs (rw) hal:/home on /export/home type nfs4 (rw,addr=192.168.1.9) hal:/music on /export/music type nfs4 (rw,addr=192.168.1.9) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
