I admit that can be surprising but it has been like that for years and the way to read the kernel messages during installation (/var/log/boot.msg or console 4) is well documented and accepted by openSUSE users and SUSE customers. To be honest, I don't believe it's realistic to dedicate resources to change that, since we have many more urgent or relevant bugs and feature requests. Closing as WONTFIX.
