[Bug 293943] New: kmix cannot activate SPDIF digital output on VIA 8237 chip
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=293943 Summary: kmix cannot activate SPDIF digital output on VIA 8237 chip Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 6 Platform: 64bit OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: one_way@online.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Using "kmix" to control the onboard sound, I have no possibility to switch on the coaxial digital output provided by my mainboard. While all other mixer scroll bars in the "output" section of "kmix" have a green light which can be switched on and off, this is missing for the "IEC958-Playback" throttle. This channel therefore cannot be muted/unmuted and always reverts to "muted" when kmix (i.e. KDE) is started. "alsamixer", however, can flawlessly switch this channel on and off - unfortunately "kmix" will mute the digital output again the next time. Chipset of onboard sound: VIA 8237; codec according to ALSA Realtek ALC655 rev 0 Not sure when this problem first appeared - setting up digital sound output by means of "kmix" definitely had worked with 10.2. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
