[Bug 381663] New: Insertion of two tables with repetition of heading by page break crashes OpenOffice Writer
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=381663 Summary: Insertion of two tables with repetition of heading by page break crashes OpenOffice Writer Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: eward@novell.com ReportedBy: troelsvedel@privat.tele.dk QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other Intel Core 2 Duo E6750, 2.66 GHz, FSB 1333 MHz, 4 MB Level 2 Cache (Conroe) Asus Motherboard P5E (Intel Motherboard Chipset X38) 2 x 1 GB Kingston RAM DDR2, 800 MHz, PC2-6400 Inno3D Geforce 8400GS (Memory: 256 MB) Seagate Barracuda, 320 GB, 7200.10, SATA II/3, 16 MB Cache Asus DVD Writer, 18x, SATA, Black Antec Nine Hundred Gamer Case NorthQ 500 Watt Ultra Silent Power Supply Linux Kernel, version 2.6.22.17-0.1-default (command: uname -r) openSUSE 10.3, 32-bit packages (command: cat /etc/SuSE-release) GNOME 2.20.0 (command: gnome-about) OpenOffice.org version 2.3.0, Build 2.3.0.1.5 (= version 2.3.0.1.2-10.5); 32-bit OOo (command: rpm -qa | grep OpenOffice). OOo is updated with the official patches from http://download.opensuse.org/update/10.3/ I used BSD strace version 4.5.16 to trace the system calls of OpenOffice Writer: $ strace -o /tmp/strace.log -f -tt -s 512 oowriter Compressed strace-logfile enclosed. In OpenOffice Writer, I loaded a copy of my resume (in Danish). I inserted on the same page two tables, using the template for tables in OpenOffice Writer without any predefined background colours, fonts, etc. See the first screenshot enclosed. I made the first table with the option "repeat heading" checked. At first, I made the second table without the option "repeat heading" checked. See the second screenshot enclosed. I applied the same colours to the two tables: black heading, blue side pane, and "Gray 10%" to the interior of the tables. Then I applied the option "repeat heading" to the second table. In order to ensure that the second table would split across two pages so the heading would repeat, I inserted a couple of blank lines before the first inserted table. Then OpenOffice Writer crashed: see the third screenshot enclosed. The bug does not appear if only one table is inserted across pages with the option "repeat heading" checked. And the bug doesn't show up if the second table is made with the option "repeat heading" unchecked. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I'm still on openSUSE 10.3. After the update, I have been unable to reproduce the reported table bug. So, maybe the new 2.4-version solved my problem?
