It is necessary to turn the computer off and start over without on-line repositories. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. When selecting installation mode (2nd screen if installer), check "Add Online Repositories..." and/or "Include Add-on Products..." 2. Add any on-line repository. 3. Does it work? Actual Results: It completely freezes when adding the repository. Expected Results: Repositories are added and installation continues. With 1 online repo (Non-OSS which is relatively small) it was OK. With 256MB RAM the system did not boot at all. With 1GB and 4 repositories it was OK. So for using the additional online repositories you need at least 1GB RAM. The workaround with less memory is to not use the online repositories during installation but add them later in the installed system. (The installer runs from RAM disk so it needs extra space and the installed system will have swap available.) The installation was in VirtualBox with memory ranging from 500 to 1000 MB. I installed only basic server for some tests. I didn't expect bigger memory needs for server without X." It actually does not matter how much you install in the end, the package solver needs to load _all_ package data from _all_ repositories. And for example the OSS repository contains over 20.000 (!) packages, for every package you need to load its dependencies (requires/provides), package metadata (summary, description, size, arch, ...), and that's huge amount of data.
