On my system, though, the problem doesn't occur in 100%, rather rarely.
I can't reproduce the issue on my system (QEMU VM with virtio-gpu) unfortunately.
Did you run KVM with -smp > 1? I've tested with -smp 4. Not sure whether it's relevant, but since the issue is about race condition...
In the working cases, VT seems happening properly at crash (via signal 10 to the compositor). In the broken case, logind receives the signal.
Are there any simple ways to figure out which process is listening for VT-switch signals on a given VT ?
I don't think so. In my case I rebuilt a patched kernel. strace could be used for figuring that, but this seems preventing the bug reproduction. Another possibility would be either systemtap or such. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
