I selected the "Activate this Partition When Selected for Boot" but the resulting menu.lst does not contain makeactive in it's parameters. There is a mysterious "##YaST - activate" comment but no makeactive. If you follow this recommendation, but use makeactive against the Windows partition, you'll be transferring the boot process directly to Windows, bypassing Grub, which will leave you with a system that easily can boot Windows, but cannot boot SUSE until the active partition is restored to the one containing Grub. In summary, one cannot dual-boot Vista in this way, or at least I was not successful doing so. The bug here is that the yast tool makes it look as if you can control that value but you cannot.
