[Bug 876001] New: various problems after patch update like cups printing and virt-manager
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=876001 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=876001#c0 Summary: various problems after patch update like cups printing and virt-manager Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: batpul@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0 Two weeks ago I could print normally and use virt-manager to control several VMs. This stopped working altogether. The only system changes where the regular patch updates. Printing stopped working. Printer is now always disabled, even after enabling. Deleting and recreating the HP printer connected via USB or network doesn't help. Cups always disables the printer. Sending test page fails. Connecting to http://localhost:631/admin gives "Internal Server Error". /var/log/cups/error_log shows messages like: E [01/May/2014:15:57:35 +0200] [cups-deviced] PID 4157 (hp) stopped with status 13! E [01/May/2014:15:57:35 +0200] [cups-deviced] PID 4164 (parallel) stopped with status 13! virt-manager can no longer connect to my configured VMs. It only shows 'localhost (QEMU)' without any of my VMs. Reboots or restarts don't help. After a reboot I get all this in my /var/log/warn: 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201915+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: RSDP 00000000000f0490 00024 (v02 ALASKA) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201915+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: XSDT 00000000d9b1a070 00064 (v01 ALASKA A M I 01072009 AMI 00010013) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201916+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: FACP 00000000d9b23b90 000F4 (v04 ALASKA A M I 01072009 AMI 00010013) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201917+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: DSDT 00000000d9b1a170 09A19 (v02 ALASKA A M I 00000012 INTL 20051117) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201917+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: FACS 00000000d9b37f80 00040 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201918+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: APIC 00000000d9b23c88 00072 (v03 ALASKA A M I 01072009 AMI 00010013) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201918+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: MCFG 00000000d9b23d00 0003C (v01 01072009 MSFT 00000097) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201919+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: HPET 00000000d9b23d40 00038 (v01 ALASKA A M I 01072009 AMI. 00000005) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201919+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: SSDT 00000000d9b23d78 00495 (v01 IdeRef IdeTable 00001000 INTL 20091112) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201920+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: SSDT 00000000d9b24210 009AA (v01 PmRef Cpu0Ist 00003000 INTL 20051117) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201921+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: SSDT 00000000d9b24bc0 00A92 (v01 PmRef CpuPm 00003000 INTL 20051117) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201921+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] ACPI: BGRT 00000000d9b25658 00038 (v00 ALASKA A M I 01072009 AMI 00010013) 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201925+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] Zone ranges: 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201926+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] DMA [mem 0x00001000-0x00ffffff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201978+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] DMA32 [mem 0x01000000-0xffffffff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201979+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] Normal [mem 0x100000000-0x21f5fffff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201980+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] Movable zone start for each node 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201981+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] Early memory node ranges 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201981+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0x00001000-0x0009dfff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201981+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0x00100000-0x1fffffff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201982+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0x20200000-0x40003fff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201982+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0x40005000-0xd929ffff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201983+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0xda2f4000-0xda2f4fff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201984+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0xda338000-0xdaca5fff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201984+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0xdafd9000-0xdaffffff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.201985+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0x100000000-0x21f5fffff] 2014-05-01T15:56:40.202018+02:00 linuxpc kernel: [ 0.000000] Built 1 zonelists in Zone order, mobility grouping on.
