Running yast and changing the servers name or any other less important varaible (to accept a change and write it back), saving the network - the network IP and XEN bridge was back and I could reboot the server again and get it running - up to the next chinese attack. My NOC monitor die ring. Firstly I did remember an AMD Opteron 270 Family bug, physically halting all CPUs by hacking one virtual guest. But all HP DL380/385 Servers include a watchdag, after a timeout resetting the box, if the CPU seems to be killed. Checking the master console with iLO, the Server was booted correctly. I could log in as root and did call "htop" and did see all 4 CPUs running. But I could not login with putty - really strange and very new. Calling "ifconfig" I did see no bridges and no vifs, I did see: lo Link encap:Lokale Schleife inet Adresse:127.0.0.1 Maske:255.0.0.0 UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:652 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:652 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 Sendewarteschlangenlänge:0 RX bytes:1694747 (1.6 Mb) TX bytes:1694747 (1.6 Mb) really strange using "yast" and saving the network configuration did help, the network was back again. After a "reboot" the server did boot and connecting all ports and bridges and all VMs a ususal. And because this occures again - 6 hours later -, I did write it down here. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
