https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=865949 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=865949#c0 Summary: The password field reduces in height while length increases when wrong password is entered Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: rb03884@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=580229) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=580229) Screenshot of password field when wrong password entered User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 The password field reduces in height while length increases when wrong password is entered i.e. when trying to access Yast. This also happens when typing kdesu for other applications such as kwrite. This was submitted 3 years ago in 2011 with no patch in site on bugs.kde.org. I have updated the date to 2014. A patch is imperative before openSUSE 13.2 is released. Ref: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=270245 This does NOT happen in KDE 3.5 or GNOME. Other OS i.e. Mac OSX or Windows never have this problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Access Yast 2. In the password field type in the wrong password 3. Repeat one to three times and notice hows the space decreases Actual Results: The default password field reduces in height and length increases when the wrong password entered. Expected Results: The default password field should stay the same size when the wrong password entered. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Especially this bug is IMHO really minor as it happens only after the second wrong password. The situation was even worse with the beginning of KDE 4 series. See bug 153029 and https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=166888 I don't now if this bug is actually a regression or it was only fixed for the first wrong password. Closing as upstream. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

And it is still broken in 4.12. I understand that there is an "extramile" team for fixing minor bugs. How can I get the team to review this bug? If it's so minor why hasn't it been fixed in the last 3 years? How is it that GNOME does not have this problem? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
