[Bug 395632] New: Main Menu - Main Menu is almost unusable in nested window session
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=395632 Summary: Main Menu - Main Menu is almost unusable in nested window session Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: sreeves@novell.com ReportedBy: eward@novell.com QAContact: eward@novell.com Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=218988) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=218988) screenshot Problem - On a default 1024x768 screen resolution, if the user configures the user switch applet to open nested xnest / Xephyr windows, their default size is 640x480. Anyway, if the user launches one of these nested windows, the Main Menu is unusable when the gnome panel is horizontally aligned and needs a little bit or work to look proper when the gnome panel is aligned vertically. I've attached a screenshot to give a visual representation. Steps to Reproduce - Install openSUSE 11.0 rc1 and choose the default gnome pattern install - After the system is installed, Login to the gnome desktop that has a screen resolution size of 1024x768 - Right click on the gnome panel and select the "Add to Panel..." option - Add the User Switch applet - Right click on the User Switch applet - Select Preferences - Enable the "Create new logins in nested windows" and close the dialog - Now left click on the User Switch applet and select "Login Windows" - This should launch a nested window with a default resolution size of 640x480 - Notice how the main menu UI is not visible in the nested window. Expected Behavior - The Main Menu should work properly in a nested window that has a default resolution of 640x480 when the gnome panel is either vertically or horizontally aligned. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
