[Bug 1043560] New: tcsh login fails
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1043560 Bug ID: 1043560 Summary: tcsh login fails Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: tiwai@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Invoking tcsh with login (-l) fails % tcsh -l if: Expression Syntax. It seems that there is a typo in the recent addition in /etc/csh.login: if ( $TERM =~ screen.* -a && ! -e /usr/share/terminfo/s/$TERM) setenv TERM screen Removing the superfluous -a makes things working again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I noticed that the same problem is present on openSUSE Leap 42.3.
I am not seeing the problem with 42.3. And I do use csh (really tcsh) as my login shell. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Sorry, my bad. The system had aaa_base from the old TW by some reason. Scratch my previous comment. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
