[Bug 679012] New: OBS build attempt fails immediately with no build log
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=679012 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=679012#c0 Summary: OBS build attempt fails immediately with no build log Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: BuildService AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bhutchings@solarflare.com QAContact: adrian@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20110103 Fedora/3.6.13-1.fc14 Firefox/3.6.13 I uploaded a KMP source RPM (project 'sfc-kmp' in repository 'home:bwh-sfc'). This KMP has been successfully built against SLES 11.0 and 11.1 locally and I am using it as a test of OBS. On OBS, the build attempt fails almost immediately. The 'Download logfile' link for the package takes me to an XML file with the text 'remote error: sfc-kmp no logfile'. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create project with my source RPM 2. Enable repository SLES_11_SP1, architecture i586 3. Wait for build to complete Actual Results: Build fails with no log Expected Results: Build should succeed, or at least fail with some recognisable error in a log -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

You have uploaded a source rpm without extracting it. OBS reports that the sources are broken therefore it can't even try to start a build, so the build log stays empty.
However, this is still mentioned in the state of the webui (or via "osc results -v").
How did you upload the src.rpm, the webui should use the the download and extracting source service by default.
1. Select tab 'Sources' 2. Select 'Add file' 3. Select the local file 4. Set 'Upload from' to 'Local file' 5. Select a local file There isn't (currently) a location from which this file could be downloaded. Maybe the webui should not allow uploading files if they can't be used. Or are you saying that it allows uploading single source files, but not source packages? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
