[Bug 610767] New: OpenOffice technical support menu item
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=610767 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=610767#c0 Summary: OpenOffice technical support menu item Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: bnc-team-ooo@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: giecrilj@stegny.2a.pl QAContact: cwei@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; pl-PL; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100317 SUSE/3.5.9-0.1.1 Firefox/3.5.9 The Technical Support page hardwired into OpenOffice Help menu cannot be used by openSuSE @home users to get technical support. I do not know where that would be --- it seems Novell acts as the vendor for OpenOffice, right? However, the answer I got at the forum sends me up to openoffice.org. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch OpenOffice Writer. 2. Tell Help to show Technical Support. 3. Look for a way to get OpenOffice Technical Support. Actual Results: 2. Firefox displays the page "Support" URL:http://www.novell.com/support/microsites/microsite.do 3. NULL (for openSuSE @home users). Expected Results: 2. A useful technical support site. But what confuses me - what do you mean by 'openSuSE @home users'? Like, when you are off-line?
Like when I am not an entreprise employee. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hmm, we could use http://en.opensuse.org/OpenOffice.org for openSUSE. I am not sure about what to do with SLED, though.
In fact, we should use the same page for SLED and openSUSE because the build service does not allow to distinguish between packages for openSUSE and SLED. The only official way is to modify it by extra file and the branding package.
If you could determine the distribution by the browser headers, you could treat these customers differently on server. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
