This error means, that attempt to create a list of device names that should be scanned to find S.M.A.R.T. capable devices failed for some reason and smartd is not able to monitor these devices. Could you provide more info on your devices and smartd.conf changes? better text to describe this problem in short ?
Solution: 1. say nothing 2. say "no devices to monitor" - if someone is expecting a device "Problem creating device name scan list" is correct description but totaly useless since it is not clear *what* went wrong and *what* to do next. "Problem"-> error -> need to solve IMHO if there its simply no device found you can even say "no device found" and exit(0) if nothing usefull can be done, use a switch to continue even when no device is found. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
